Parent Guide

Welcome to Minispace! This guide explains how to use the parent portal to stay connected with your child's daycare.

Creating Your Account

You will receive an invitation email from your daycare with a link to create your account.

  1. Click the link in the invitation email
  2. Choose a password (minimum 8 characters)
  3. You are now registered — go to your daycare's Minispace URL to log in

Your daycare URL looks like: 

https://your-daycare-name.minispace.app

Logging In

  1. Go to your daycare's Minispace URL
  2. Enter your email and password
  3. Enter the 6-digit verification code sent to your email

Trusted devices

After your first 2FA verification, your device is trusted for 30 days — you won't need to re-enter the code on the same device during that period.

Forgot Your Password?

  1. Go to the login page
  2. Click Forgot password
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Follow the link in the reset email

Messages

The Messages section is where you communicate with the daycare.

Receiving Messages

You receive messages from the daycare in three ways:

  • Broadcast — sent to all parents (announcements, general information)
  • Group — sent to parents of children in your child's group
  • Private — a direct message to you specifically

You receive an email notification for each new message.

Sending a Message

You can send private messages directly to daycare staff:

  1. Go to Messages
  2. Click New Message
  3. Select the staff member you want to contact
  4. Type your message and send

Daily Journal

The daily journal shows what your child did each day — meals, mood, sleep, activities, and notes from the educator.

Viewing the Journal

  1. Go to Journal in the sidebar
  2. Select your child (if you have multiple)
  3. Browse by week using the navigation arrows

Each day's entry shows:

Field What it tells you
Weather Weather/temperature that day
Menu What was served for meals and snacks
Appetite How much your child ate
Mood How your child was feeling
Sleep How long your child slept
Health Any health observations
Medications Any medications administered
Educator's message A personal note from the educator
Observations Additional notes

Photos & Videos

The Media section shows photos and videos shared by the daycare.

  • You only see media that the daycare has shared with your child or their group
  • New photos trigger an email notification

Documents

The Documents section contains files shared by the daycare — menus, forms, policies, bulletins, and more.

  1. Go to Documents
  2. Click on any document to download it

Your Profile

Changing Your Password

  1. Click your name in the top-right corner
  2. Go to Profile
  3. Enter your current password and choose a new one

Changing Your Email

  1. Go to Profile
  2. Click Change Email
  3. Enter your current password and your new email address

If you have trouble accessing your account or have questions about the app, contact your daycare directly — they manage your account and can reset your password if needed.
